The city of Cartagena is located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and is called “The Pearl of the Caribbean’. A magical place declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.
This famous tourist destination adds to its charms, a colonial architecture with its ancient and beautiful republican houses, churches, strongholds, ancient cloisters, squares and museums. All this together with a modern hotel and restaurant infrastructure.
The ‘Clock Tower’ is the most renowned historic city center entrance. Inside, there is the ‘Plaza de la Aduana’, where they brought the slaves to be sold to the highest bidder. This iconic walled city has very attractive spots such as the ‘Plaza de San Pedro’, the impressive ‘Naval Museum’, the ‘Plaza de Armas’, the Cathedral, the ‘Palace of the Inquisition’, the ‘Teatro Heredia’ and the ‘Plaza Bolivar’, where lies the Cartagena Gold Museum. Walking the city walls, you reach the vaults (bóvedas), place of attractive craft shops and art galleries. The neighborhood of Getsemaní is one of the most traditional and popular one’s in the historic center. Share with its people and appreciate their customs.
You must visit the ‘Castillo de San Felipe’, the largest display of military architecture in America. It is a fort built in 1657 by the Spaniards, as a protection against pirates while carrying gold to Europe. Its construction took about 121 years. Nearby, at the rear of the castle, is the monument of the ‘Zapatos Viejos’, a sculpture of a famous artist of the city. Another wonder that you can see, is the monument of the ‘India Catalina’, considered a symbol of colonial history of the city of Cartagena de Indias.
Among its main attractions is the “Cerro de la Popa’, which is a small hill whose highest point rises 148 meters. There is a convent, which is one of the most valued symbols of Cartagena. Enjoy a privileged view of the entire city.
Another interesting part of Cartagena is called ‘Bocagrande’, which is striking for its hotel and beach area.

We offer a guided city tour that starts with the transfer from the city center to the La Popa Convent. From the convent you will have a great view over the whole city. From there, we proceed to the biggest fort the Spaniards built in their colonies in South America, the fortress San Felipe de Barajas. We will visit all parts of the fort and some tunnels, as well as the statue of Don Blas de Lezo. Then we enter the walled city center through the official entrance: the Clock Tower. Behind it, we can find the Monument of Don Pedro de Heredia, who founded Cartagena de Indias in 1533. We walk through the narrow colourful alleys; pass by beautiful squares, parks and churches. The Tour guide tells us the story of Cartagena`s founding and its interesting history full of legends and pirate attacks. We leave the historical center and cross to one of the oldest parts of the city, Getsemaní, a symbol of resistance.

We offer a guided city tour by bicycle through the historical center (the walled city), Getsemaní, Manga and Bocagrande. The tour starts in the historical center; we will ride past all main attractions and landmarks (squares, parks, and churches). We will have picture pit stops and the Tour guide will tell you about the history of Cartagena and of all the landmarks along the way. The tour goes on to Getsemaní, the neighbourhood where Florentino Ariza lived, the main character from “Love in the time of Cholera”, the worldwide known novel written by Nobel Prize winner Gabriel Garcia Marquéz. Then we will go across the Roman Bridge, towards Manga. We will pass the beautiful Villa Roman, residence of the famous Cartagena family Roman, who invented the soft drink “Cola Roman”. We will then visit the cemetery of Manga, the oldest cemetery in Cartagena. We will continue riding on the seafront avenue all the way to Castillogrande in Bocagrande. Bocagrande is a famous destination for international tourists because of its skyline and its taste of North American culture. It is also known as “Little Miami”. Castillogrande was a former fortress built by the Spaniards to defend Cartagena. After visiting the “new city of Cartagena”, we finish our tour in the city center.
